Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations are a major workhorse for many design industries in almost every engineering application. The advent of HPC, particularly GPGPUs, in recent times have boosted the processing and increased the expectations of designers to achieve the best possible accuracies with realistic flow simulations through CFD. Because of this, industries are slowly moving from model-based, less accurate, computationally inexpensive approaches (e.g. RANS) to physics-based, more-accurate, and computationally expensive approaches (e.g. LES, DNS).
