This paper introduces an FPGA-based digital oscilloscope design that overcomes the limitations of traditional analog oscilloscopes and addresses size, cost, and portability issues typical of conventional digital oscilloscopes. The design incorporates an EP4CE10 FPGA chip, a Nios II embedded processor, an AD9280 high-speed analog-to-digital converter, and a 4.3-inch RGB LCD screen. It uses Verilog HDL for hardware functions and C for software controls, enabling high-precision waveform measurement, storage, display management, trigger control, and adjustments. This design offers engineers a practical, cost-effective solution with enhanced flexibility and scalability, making it suitable for various engineering applications. The findings highlight the potential of FPGA-based systems in enhancing digital measurement tools.
