Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are crucial for monitoring and collecting data in diverse environments, ranging from environmental monitoring to military applications. Coverage and route optimizations are essential to increase the effectiveness and longevity of WSN s. This study provides an extensive overview of routing and coverage optimization in WSNs, emphasizing new developments and approaches. This article examines the specifics of WSN routing using various optimization methods. Coverage and routing are one of the most active areas of research in WSN s. Generally speaking, coverage refers to how well a sensor network will keep an eye on a particular area of interest. It might be regarded as indicators of service caliber based on applications, coverage which can be determined in a variety of ways. Various optimization approaches are also covered here to help establish a routing path. The results provide insightful information on possible avenues for newer applications for WSN s.
