Crime Scene Response Classification System & Crime Scene Investigation Inventory

I prepared the following classification system for the institution where I worked; in part to acquaint line staff with their responsibilities for crime scene response, but most importantly to make them aware that there are certain crime scenes that they should not attempt to process owing to the severity of the occurrence and their lack of training and experience. Jurisdictions with strict laws allowing for the prosecution of the possession of contraband in a jail or prison may need to adjust the below-listed criteria. Again, this is only a suggested guideline that may need revision for any particular agency.
