Making Standardization Contribute to the Protection of People and Democratic Values

In 2006 ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27 “IT Security techniques” established Working Group 5 “Identity Management and Privacy Technologies”. This text describes the reasoning to have this Working Group within SC 27 and introduces WG 5 and its projects including the recently published privacy framework (ISO/IEC 29100) and framework for identity management, Part 1 (ISO/IEC 24760-1) as well as WG 5's liaison partners and future work.
