Multi-Path TCP (MPTCP) extends traditional TCP by enabling simultaneous data transmission over multiple paths, offering potential advantages in terms of throughput and reliability. However, the interaction of MPTCP with various congestion control mechanisms and its behavior under lossy network conditions remain critical areas of investigation. Through this experimentation, we analyze how Cubic and BBR adapt to varying degrees of packet loss and assess their throughput and transfer time characteristics under the same platform. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the behavior and effectiveness of these algorithms in lossy network conditions, aiding network administrators and protocol designers in making informed decisions for optimizing network performance and reliability.
