This work investigates the performance of an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-enabled network under Nakagami-m fading conditions. The outage probability (OP) is approximated using the central limit theorem (CLT) and the second-order moment matching method, while the ergodic capacity (EC) is analyzed based on the results from the CLT approximation. To examine the impact of several parameters on the system’s performance, Monte Carlo simulations’ results disclose the significant influence of the parameters under study on the system’s OP and EC.
