From Consultation to Collaboration
C. P. Rashmi · Advances in computational intelligence and robotics book series · 2025
The significance of public involvement in AI policy-making is examined in this chapter, with a focus on the transition from conventional, consultation-based approaches to inclusive, cooperative ones. These models improve transparency, trust, and alignment with social ideals as AI becomes more pervasive in daily life. We examine the advantages of collaborative techniques and their drawbacks, including power dynamics and resource constraints, using case studies. In order to ensure responsible, democratic AI governance that represents the interests of the public, collaborative participation is essential.
