Nonlinear Control Law for Path Following by UAVs

Sayantan Pal, Sikha Hota · 2024

This work finds a solution to reduce the convergence time by proposing a nonlinear guidance law for path following problems of Unmanned Air vehicles (UAVs). The guidance law has been derived based on the assumption that a virtual target tracks the desired path accurately and the UAV tries to catch the virtual target, that is, the relative distance between them and the look angle are made to zero. The proposed guidance law provides a generic solution which is applicable for any path-following problem. Comparative results showcase the efficacy of the proposed guidance law in terms of convergence time.
