The DIABCARD Server Architecture

The DIABCARD project is now, after successful pilot specifications, implementations and field tests, in the stage of application development for large scale European installation leading to marketable products. In order to reach these goals, emerging international standards, promoted by major industry (PC/SC specification, OpenCard framework) are incorporated into the DIABCARD architecture. The article gives a short overview on these specifications and describes DIABCARD-specific functionality and how it is added onto a general architecture for chip card based applications.
