In this paper, a new numerical scheme based on Genochhi wavelet method is proposed to find an approximate solution of white dwarfs and Lane–Emden-type equations. In this scheme, using Genochhi wavelet truncated expansion, our governing equation has been converted into the set of algebraic equations which can be further solved by Newton–Raphson method. The Lane–Emden-type equation has been analyzed numerically with the help of different types of test problems under the homogeneous and nonhomogeneous cases. The numerical results have been compared with the existing literature. It has been found that the Genochhi wavelet collocation method shows the desired level of accuracy over the existing method with a few collocation points.
