The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into operating systems is revolutionising user interaction by enhancing functionality and accessibility, particularly through technologies like Natural Language Processing (NLP) and speech recognition. Linux, with its open-source flexibility, has become a preferred platform for developing AI-driven solutions, enabling seamless adaptation and innovation in AI applications. This research study analyses the implementation of NLP and speech recognition in Linux environments, focusing on their impact on human-computer interaction and overall system usability. This study also highlights the technical challenges, such as maintaining privacy, addressing security risks, and ensuring system efficiency, particularly in diverse and resource-limited environments. While AI offers transformative potential in operating systems, this research study highlights the importance of addressing ethical concerns and maintaining robust governance to ensure user privacy and trust. Through responsible development, AI-enhanced systems can offer significant improvements in user experience while mitigating associated risks.
