Today’s digital world is in a transformation phase where conventional centralized business models are getting replaced by decentralized business models. Blockchain technology is the root cause of this transformation. Every industrial domain is getting disrupted by the emergence of technologies like blockchain, machine learning, etc. Travel industry is also looking for the transformation supported by blockchain technology. Various attributes of blockchain technology like decentralization, immutability, security, etc., can help in increasing the faith of the customer. This chapter investigates how integration of blockchain technology in travel sector will improve the overall ecosystem. Benefits, challenges, current applications, and prospects of blockchain in travel services are discussed. Additionally, the chapter explores how blockchain is revolutionizing the travel industry and can enhance customer trust by reshaping business models, using insights from prior research and case studies.
