Unveiling the Landscape of Data Security and Privacy Technology: A Comprehensive Patent Analysis

The ever-increasing volume of data has exacerbated data breach problems, thus promoting advancements in data security and privacy technology. This study employs statistical and text mining methods to provide a detailed landscape of data security and privacy technology. Over 120,000 data security and privacy patent documents from 2000 to 2023 were analyzed to identify eight key technology topics, including "Data Encryption and User Authentication", "Cloud Storage and Data Processing Security" and so forth. The study also unveils the evolution of these technology topics. Our research aims to assist the data security and privacy community in recognizing emerging technology trends and directing future research and development efforts.
