Collaborative Allocation of Flexibility Resources in Source-Load-Storage Systems for High New Energy Penetration

Baosheng Chen, Zelong Zhang, Longyu Yang, Yan Yang, Zhijun Liu · 2024

In the context of the "dual carbon" goal, China is gradually constructing a new type of power system with high penetration of new energy grid-connected, in order to adapt to the characteristics of the power system with high penetration of new energy grid-connected, this paper proposes a method for planning and allocating resources based on the balance of supply and demand across source, load, and storage flexibility. It determines the capacity for each resource within the new power system, aiming to minimize total construction and operational costs. The study concludes that optimizing flexibility resource allocation is essential for balancing new energy integration, reducing power supply costs, and ensuring the stability and economic viability of power systems, paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon energy future.
