Effective communication is a fundamental element of numerous modern digital technologies. Among protocols, Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) has received the most attention. So that, this protocol enables the direct integration of peer-to-peer real-time communication into browsers. Besides, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is beneficial for WebRTC applications, especially over video communications. This study implements a model called (WRTSDN) based WebRTC through Software -Defined -networking. WRTSDN is a WebRTC and SDN approach for offering the best route from a network-wide perspective. In addition, this work has been achieved and compared using two models, such as (WebRTC without SDN) and (WRTSDN). These models have the same structure and consist of 8 hosts and 20 switches arranged in a fat tree topology. The Network structure has been done in the real world with access, distribution, aggregation, edge, and core routers. To evaluate the performance of both models, four metrics are utilised: round-trip time, jitter, throughput, and delay. The results demonstrate that the WRTSDN method effectively transfers data on the route for a fat-tree topology while satisfying the criterion of lower delay compared to the standard WebRTC protocol. Also, the WRTSDN framework exhibited minimal variation in the jitter metric. This characteristic means that the model is well-suited for applications in real-time that demand consistent and superior quality of service (QoS) performance. Finally, the WRTSDN technique presented a significant result in measuring delay compared to the standard WebRTC protocol.
