Experimental Analysis of Multimode Time-Varying Enclosures
Guglielmo d’Ambrosio, Giuseppe Ferrara · 1983
In order to assess the degree of randomization of the microwave field inside a mode-stir red cavity systematic measurements of power reflection and transmission coefficients were carried out, investigating the influence of the radiation frequency (in the 5.5 ÷ 18 GHz range), and of position and polarization of the feeding aperture. The results of more unconventional tests, based on VSWR measurements and on the evaluation of the power absorbed by a probing sample, are also reported, and it is shown that such techniques can give useful information on the behaviour of the cavity expecially in view of some particular applications like the exposure of samples in bioelectromagnetic research and the related dosimetry.
