Chenlin Wang, Haitao Zhang, Xiaoyan Feng · 2024

In recent years, with the increment in enrollment rates, the scale of Chinese universities has continuously expanded. College students have become a large and significant user group with strong consumption capacity and diverse needs. The paper develops a comprehensive campus app based on the actual needs of university students through detailed market research. The app aims to address students' needs for accessing campus information, sharing resources, engaging in multi-location social interactions, and easily accessing local services. It seeks to break down the information gap, and promote cooperation between universities and nearby businesses for mutual benefit. By integrating various innovative functions, such as Campus Virtual Community, Merchants Online, Consultation Appointment, Event Publishing, Lost-and-Found, Second-Hand Transaction, and Campus Navigation, the app provides a one-stop service to meet students' diverse needs. It improves student engagement inside and between universities, enhances information sharing, and thereby improves the quality and convenience of campus life. The app is built utilizing a microservice framework and cloud computing services. During the design phase, the app uses a variety of optimization techniques to improve efficiency, including web caching and database optimization. It also introduces a new social experience, and showcases social responsibility and public welfare spirit through the successful implementation of specific functions.
