Impact of Intentional Delay Addition on System Capacity in Fronthaul Multiplexing
Hiroshi Ou, Fumiaki Maehara · 2024
The use of the higher frequency faces problems with small coverage and a small frequency-selective diversity effect. Mobile fronthaul multiplexing is a simple and costeffective solution to improve the cell coverage and transmission performance. This paper introduces fronthaul multiplexing and proposes intentional delay addition scheme to exploit the frequency-selective diversity benefit, especially for small delay spread peculiar to higher frequency propagation channels. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can improve the average system capacity especially in scenarios with a small delay spread.
