Internet of things (loT) framework based on wireless sensor network (WSN) stand out because of their affordable and simple to administer, offering a wide exhibit open door. These networks involve sensor nodes that are equipped for detecting, processing, and communicating information. Nonetheless, energy saving has direct impact on the network longevity, it continues to be a crucial challenge in WSN-IoT networks. Clustering has shown promising procedure for increasing the efficiency of data transmission, the selection of best cluster head (CH), which takes distance to the sink and residual energy into account, is complex and fastidious assessment of explicit parameters to guarantee optimal performance. This paper tackles the issue by exploring sophisticated CH selection strategies and highlighting their critical job for improving WSN-IoT networks' energy efficiency. In this article, fuzzy and cluster-based energy efficient routing protocol (FCEERP) for WSN-IoT networks is specifically presented. According to the simulation results, FCEERP outperforms the three current protocols-UCBR (universal clustering-based routing protocol), DFLC (distributed fuzzy logic-based clustering algorithm), and LEACH (low energy adaptive-clustering hierarchy)-in terms of enhancing energy efficiency and extending the network's lifespan
