Electromagnetic Compatibility of a System under the Influence of a Bluetooth Transmitter

Thiemo Stadtler, Adrien Schoof, J. L. ter Haseborg · 2002

Bluetooth wireless technology is a new and innovative specification, especially suited to replace expensive and restricting conventional cabling. It is predicted that radio communication based on this standard will gain significant importance in modern communication. Bluetooth-Transmitters therefore will be found close-by other electrical systems. The failure-free operation and interaction of these systems must be ensured. In this paper the coupling of Bluetooth transmitters into electrical systems is examined. Measurements with a commercial Bluetooth-System are performed and simulation according to the transmission line theory and the method of moments are calculated. Both measurement and simulation are made for the homogenous far-field and the inhomogeneous field near the transmitting antenna.
