Requirements prioritization (RP) is the selection of the most important requirements for a particular software release. The importance of RP cannot be denied in software release planning. RP is comparatively easy when the size of the project is small but when the size of the project grows RP is a tedious task. Reviews of existing RP techniques show that RP suffers from several challenges for example scalability, dependency, lack of stakeholder communication, unable to deal with changing requirements, ease of use, efficiency, and effectiveness. The process of selecting optimum requirements is complex and time-consuming. Therefore, to overcome the challenges of scalability and dependency a framework is proposed which will use an improved marine predator's algorithm (IMPA) for RP. The proposed framework has two phases, phase I is related to the proposed IMPA for optimizing the related requirements and phase II is related to the application of IMPA on RP. The proposed framework will handle RP's scalability and dependency issues effectively and efficiently. It will enable project managers to prioritize the large number of requirements for software release accurately.
