In today’s tech-centered world, where innovation is the key tool in the process of achieving efficiency and accuracy in work. Open Source Softwares (OSS) are platforms which give the license of using, studying and changing the code to everyone. The diverse contributions by the users and rapid development cycles in OSS gives rise to the bugs which lie dormant in the OSS thereby decreasing its efficiency. One such OSS is Bugzilla maintained by Mozilla. The frequent changes in code leads to uncertainty in information and is further calculated using entropy which is considered to be a reliable indicator of potential bugs by identifying the complex code areas which are more prone to bugs. In this study, a thorough overview of Tsallis entropy and Havrda-Charvat entropy has been done on some subcomponents of Mozilla Firefox for maintenance of bug repair which can further help in predicting when to release the new version of software for enhancing the efficiency of the same.
