Recently, real-time monitoring, control, and automation of diverse laboratory processes have been made possible by technology through the utilization of sensors, actuators, and interconnected devices. Intelligent decision-making, data sharing, and seamless connectivity are made possible in the laboratory by Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This research offers a thorough analysis of the prototype deployment of IoT-based automation with security systems for a smart lab. Any compatible web-based device, from anywhere in the world, can operate the system through the Internet with a suitable interface. For optimal security, RFID and fingerprint scanners can be used at the entrance. PIR sensor-based lights and fans can also be turned on and off automatically. However, electrical equipment such as air conditioners, lights, and fans can also be turned on and off with commands. The goal of this paper is to design a low-cost, self-controlled, secure monitoring-based laboratory automation system that leverages Internet and Wi-Fi technology.
