Resource Allocation and Secure Channel Model for Service-Dependent Mobile Edge Computing

Madhavi J Kulkarni, Mr Ramamoorthy · 2024

Channel and resource allocation in mobile edge computing poses a significant challenge for service providers, greatly impacting the quality of service (QoS) in wireless networks. To handle this issue, variety of solutions has been named in literature but still suffer to achieve higher QoS metrics. This article presents a Service-Dependent Secure Channel Allocation and Resource Utilization Model (SSCARUM) aimed at maximizing the Quality of Service (QoS) in wireless networks. The method focused on allocating channel and enforces security according to the service nature. To perform this, the method discovers the channel characteristics like availability, capacity, mean utilization, throughput in various channels. Accordingly, the edge server collects the set of channels available to reach the service points based on the service claimed. With the channels identified, above mentioned factors are collected and estimates Service Completion Support (SCS), Throughput Maximization Support (TMS), Secure Communication Score (SCoS) for various channels. Based on these values, the method calculates the Channel Allocation Score (CAS) to facilitate channel selection and resource allocation. The objective of the proposed work is to develop a Service-Dependent Secure Channel Allocation and Resource Utilization Model (SSCARUM) that optimizes channel selection and resource allocation based on service-specific characteristics, enhancing Quality of Service (QoS) in wireless networks. The model ensures efficient throughput, security, and service completion in mobile edge computing.
