Evaluating the Outcomes of Digital Technologies on Translation Quality: A Comparative Analysis of Machine Translation VS. Human Translation

This paper compares machine translation (MT) and human translation (HT) and assess them in terms of their accuracy, cultural nuances sensitivity, time and cost efficiency. Its objective is to draw a demarcation in the respective areas of application of each method in the translation procedure and investigate how they can be used in combination. As NMT technology has considerably improved linguistic accuracy in machine translation but on the other hand human translation still remains unmatched in many aspects of the translation task. This study demonstrates their effectiveness and addresses the question of the possibility of using both strategies within the scope of professional translation.
