Security and Privacy Considerations in Cloud-Based Education

Cloud computing has transformed education by providing anytime access to educational content, enhancing learning, and fostering collaboration. Adaptive technologies and analytics allow personalizing learning experiences and increasing learner engagement by tailoring education to individual needs. Cloud solutions streamline administrative tasks like attendance and grading, allowing educators to focus more on teaching. However, these benefits come with challenges, primarily concerning security and privacy. Educational organizations manage large amounts of sensitive data, including learner records, academic information, grades, and intellectual property. Storing this data in the cloud raises concerns about unauthorized access, data breaches, and regulatory compliance. The use of cloud-based services for hosting infrastructure and applications makes institutions vulnerable to attacks. Therefore, cloud security in education is crucial; requiring robust strategies and practices to protect data, applications, and infrastructure on cloud platforms.
