The Role of the Metaverse in Education

This article describes how the metaverse is being used in the education sector and its advantages. The broad term “metaverse” encompasses all future digital developments. Metaverse basically focuses on creating a separate virtual world for users based on their thinking and augmented reality. Metaverse is made possible by using virtual reality devices that support the users and take them to a 3D environment. As a result, in order for sectors like education to remain accessible and survive for a long time, the systems must be updated to accommodate new technology. Digital resources have many advantages, including portability and interactive elements. Still, there are a few obstacles. A summary of a number of metaverses in education's facets is provided in this chapter. The four different varieties of the metaverse will be defined in this article, along with the possibilities and restrictions of its educational uses. The four categories listed on the metaverse roadmap are virtual reality, augmented reality, and lifelogging.
