Emerging Technologies in Education

Emerging Technologies are becoming a reality and education has been involved in the process of adapting these technologies: Gamification, Mobile Learning, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, etc., that have adapted to current conditions to improve the quality of teaching and learning, as well as to prepare students for an increasingly digitized world. This chapter identifies the impact of Artificial Intelligence, based on a search for advances achieved in the improvement of the different processes that make up and the contributions to personalizing learning, daily teaching activities, educational administration, among others. The potential risks of emerging technologies risks in the digital preparation of students, privacy of personal data and teachers' fears that may inhibit their adoption in schools. The objective is to analyze the potential of emerging technologies in education to identify their benefits. A contrast should be made between the methodologies available in the literature, to evaluate strengths and weaknesses.
