This research looked into a frequency selective surface (FSS) with a triple square spiral pattern for the metallization of its unit cell. It was set up on a magnetized ferrite substrate. The FSS demonstrates high-quality factor (Q-factor) resonance for short-range radar (SRR) systems applications, specifically at 24.5 GHz, 26.5 GHz, and 79 GHz frequencies. The research problem addressed in this study involves designing an FSS filter to shield the SRR from data communications standardized by IEEE 802.15.3c, thereby reducing the number and severity of road accidents involving new autonomous vehicles. Computational simulations for analyzing the electromagnetic properties of the proposed device were performed using CST® Microwave Studio, which applies the finite integration technique (FIT) for full-wave analysis.
