HP Introduces Intelligent Graphics For GC/MS Data Processing

HP introduces INTELLIGENT GRAPHICS for GC/MS data processing. Using ANSWER software and the HP 2648 graphics terminal with a fast FORTRAN processor, Hewlett-Packard now offers intelligent graphics to the analytical chemist for GC/MS data processing. The new ANSWER software is said to enhance the information from the GC/mass spectrometer by providing fast, efficient processing using a simple easy-to-learn operation. For example, an ion chromatogram and entire mass spectrum can be displayed simultaneously so that the user can quickly display the spectrum from any peak in the total ion chromatrogram. A variety of data presentations including inverse video for highlighting important information, three-dimensional display and zoom capability for magnification of details help the user get fast, accurate and reliable identification of unkown compounds. ANSWER software is standard on all new HP 5985B and 5993B. Retrofiting can be done easily in the field using a specially-designed kit, the maker declares.
