THE IMPACT OF AI ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF MODERN HUMAN LIFE

OLEKSANDRA SOROKINA · HUMANITIES STUDIES · 2024

The article discusses the specifics of the functioning of neural networks and artificial intelligence. Wide access to a new information tool has radicalized the positions of specialists in matters related to information technology. The positions of the public discourse on the introduction of AI into public life are highlighted, including radical denial, comprehensive encouragement and a moderate approach. The introduction of AI technologies into modern life is associated with issues of human free will, cognition, consciousness, and social interaction. The introduction of AI is seen as a restriction of human freedom of will and choice due to reliance on automated decision-making technologies, loss of spontaneity and control over life, which raises the question of finding a balance between the need for automation and preservation of human existence. The principles of regulatory and legal regulation of this issue (respect for human rights, ensuring democratic values, transparency and minimization of risks), as well as the strategies of its use, which are followed by modern states: free use, «strict regulation» and prohibition, are determined. The author highlights the issues that require social and philosophical reflection: the possibility of exercising human free will in AI systems, cognition of reality, consciousness, and social interaction. The author identifies competencies that cannot be transferred to AI systems, such as empathy, social skills, creativity, creativity, and strategic thinking. Of particular importance are the issues of the value sphere, because morality and ethical behavior are not related to the classical rationality that is at the heart of AI, and in some respects contradict it, which raises the issue of limited use in areas where this aspect is key – judicial proceedings, social assistance, health care, etc. Positive changes associated with the introduction of AI into a person’s professional and everyday life are highlighted: algorithmization of routine actions, freeing up time and energy to focus on creative, strategic issues, increasing productivity and job satisfaction, finding a balance between work and personal life.Possible negative impacts include the loss of spontaneity of human life and the value of interpersonal relationships, reduced critical thinking, and depersonalization.
