The detection of moving targets by radar in the presence of an intense flow of chaotically impulse interference is highly difficult. In this case, many false alarms are obtained at the output of the radar detection algorithm, and the false alarm rate is not kept constant. Various algorithms are proposed in the literature to deal with different types of clutter and impulse interference. In this paper, special attention is paid to chaotic impulse disturbances appearing with high probability and known in the literature as Binomial impulse interference. This model was used to study the probabilistic characteristics of an excision constant false alarm rate (EXC CFAR) detector through numerical and simulation analysis. A comparative analysis of the results obtained for the probabilistic characteristics of the detection algorithm by simulating its operation and by means of analytical calculations is made. The obtained results can be used in the design of real radar systems.
