Abstract This chapter introduces the agile safety plan concept and gives a brief overview of its history. Next, it defines some key terms related to developing and implementing strategies for achieving functional safety. Lastly, it provides a brief note on the purpose, scope, and context of the safety plan and notes the importance of communicating the system’s limitations and assumptions.
