A Study of Self-Reported Crime
Nils Christie, Johs Andenæs, Sigurd N. Skirbekk · Universitetsforlaget eBooks · 1965
This is a study of self-reported crime within two urban and two rural districts in Norway. The subjects were males assembled for pre-military classification. Major results: great variation in self-reporting from urban to rural areas, but very limited variation between different educational and class levels. People reporting contacts with police and courts generally attained a high level in self-reporting. High education seemed to offer a slight protection against official police contacts. The same study is at present being undertaken in the other Scandinavian countries, and will also be repeated in Norway.
