CYBERSECURITY TESTING FOR IOT DEVICES: ADDRESSING VULNERABILITIES IN SMART SYSTEMS

We are seeing rapid integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices into critical systems across industries and into our day to day lives, leading to unprecedented chances and convenience.Because IoT networks link many different devices they become easy targets for cyber attackers who can break in and make everything stop working.We present the practice of dynamic application security testing (DAST), penetration testing and IoT specific tools such as OWASP IoT Project and Shodan, and derive some actionable insights into securing IoT environments by focusing on practical methodologies.The paper also provides an introduction of a step by step framework for IoT cyber security testing, providing organizations with which they can identify vulnerabilities, test the communication protocol, and ensure post deployment security.This article proposes an active security solution for IoT systems which uses AI testing methods and creates dedicated security frameworks.This gives readers invaluable insights as to how to protect interconnected systems and what to expect in the testing of IoT cyber security in the future.
