Ka-band Up/downconverter for High-altitude Platform Station (HAPS) for Emergency Aid

This paper presents the system planning for a Ka-band up-down converter to be used in high-altitude platform station (HAPS). The cellular signals from end-users received by the HAPS will be up-converted to Ka-band to establish a direct link to a ground station and down-converted back to cellular signals to resume transmission in the back haul. The HAPS can replace damage base stations and thereby strengthen the robustness of mobile communication system during emergency. The schematic of the up-downconverter will be briefed introduced.
