Ensuring IoT Network Integrity: Blockchain with Quadratic Discriminant Analysis
Jatin Sharma, Deepak Kumar, Tanmay Gupta · 2024
QDA (Quadratic discriminant analysis) in unison with blockchain technology can be said to be a spirited means of tightening the security of the IoT (Internet of Things) networks. This article attempts to empathize about the issues of information security, integrity, and privacy which arise for Internet of Things networks particularly while being used in the industrial context. Collecting real-time information in addition to analyzing and decision mechanisms, enterprises have been delivered entirely different thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT) networks. However, as they deal with so much sensitive information flow, the fast growth of IoT networks also places major security challenges at risk, involving potentially unauthorized access among others. In face of these issues, academics and industrial experts have tried to model novel approaches that will be used to enhance the IoT security networks. The integration of QDA and blockchain technology in order to overcome such problems is what will be the focal point of the research or we are going to focus on the integration of QDA and blockchain technology to solve the issues of the problem. The outcomes demonstrate the efficiency of the model to detect whether the suspicious network traffic is involved in dishonest activity or not by performing a set of metrics to assess performance. The result of the AUC-ROC was 0.98, and it signified a strong accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score for the model. To follow, the introduction of blockchain technology makes security even better by operating the decentralized and unchangeable record-keeping instruments that guarantee the safety of data, its confidentiality and integrity.
