The fog and edge computing architecture framework states that the network components positioned between devices and the cloud compute application-oriented processes. More smart gadgets are being added to the network as a result of the Internet of Everything's (IoE) rapid growth. This results in massive data volumes, which have led to problems with traditional cloud computing models such as inadequate privacy protection, sluggish reaction times, and bandwidth congestion. Edge computing solutions emerged because traditional cloud computing is no longer able to meet the many data processing requirements of today's intelligent society. It is a new paradigm for computing that allows calculations to be done at the edge of the network. Fog computing is a paradigm that leverages the advantages of utilizing cloud and edge devices to support contemporary computer systems. It does this by providing high-quality services, reducing latency, enabling mobility, supporting multi-tenancy, and many other aspects. Other names for it are fogging or fog networking. This article discusses edge computing, its architecture, its main technologies, and the ways in which it differs from edge computing as well as fog computing.
