The rapid increase of counterfeit products in the markets have put the brand reputation at high risk with consumers loosing trust in brand quickly. This makes it difficult to manage customer relationships. The blockchain being immutable and decentralized guarantees that all the product information stored on it, is secured and verified throughout the product life cycle. In this paper, we propose a novel approach of the One time Password (OTP) consisting of unique code that private to each consumers, send via email. Incorporation of QR code scanning is implemented for product authentication as both the data in QR code and consumer code are securely stored on the blockchain.Products authentication is made easy and hassle-free which helps to build trust. The solution, being scalable and portable, ensures that it is platform independent.Combining all these technological advantages, this blockchain-based system provides a robust solution to reduce the use of fake products by protecting both the consumers and manufacturers from facing adverse effects of these counterfeit products in the market.
