With the Increased demand of IoT technology now day’s the data integrity also major factor of considerations by many researchers. Blockchain is one of the best suitable solutions used to provide data integrity through tamper-proof ledgers. Decentralized operation leads peer to peer communication between IoT devices. Blockchain technology enhances Industrial IoT by providing a secure, decentralized, and transparent framework for data management, security, and automation. It enables new business models, improves operational efficiency, and fosters trust among stakeholders in IoT ecosystems. The work mentioned in the paper gives the insight about critical challenges addressed by blockchain, types, platforms, characteristics, factors for experimenting and Security threats to IoT are mentioned. This paper outlines a research roadmap for the integration of blockchain technology into IoT and Industrial IoT (IIoT) which will add significant contribution in the research and innovation.
