Efficient Use of LMDS in UMTS Network

The paper presents the current spectrum allocation and its actual usage for Fixed Wireless Systems in Europe. Both 26 and 28 GHz bands and probably 10.5 GHz LMDS can all be used. Currently higher bands, where the implementation of LMDS is possible, are being considered. The high demand for systems of this type is caused by UMTS. Some aspects of application of LMDS as part of the core network of UMTS are discussed in the paper
