Analysing the educational segment and its connection with the Internet of Things (IoT) reveals benefits and issues. The following study examines how IoT contributes to improving education since learning becomes more engaging, individualized, and effective when using IoT technology. The study adopts survey data and data from IoT devices as quantitative data sources and interviews and focus group data as qualitative data sources. An analysis of the results shows a high degree of positive relationship between IoT implementation, students’ performance and attendance. The qualitative analysis reveals critical themes like improved learning outcomes, tailored learning, and others like privacy and lack of access to technology. This paper recommends that research focus on security, fairness in technology distribution, teacher education, IoT solutions that are adaptable for large-scale education, and cross-disciplinary study. By addressing these areas, the stakeholders will be able to harness the full potential of IoT in offering efficient, effective and engaging education for all the stakeholders. The findings of this research can be useful and serve as a platform for further research as it presents the roadmap of implementing IoT in the educational system.
