In recent years, knowledge of Agile project management principles has become increasingly important due to its prominence in the software engineering space. Industry across the globe uses Agile project management principles such as Scrum and Kanban for tracking and managing projects. In spite of this importance, the academic space is devoid of a suitable platform to allow students to develop mastery in Agile while in school. In this paper, we propose the implementation of an Agile project management platform designed specifically for academic settings. The platform, named TROFOS, aims to provide students with an experience of industry’s leading platforms, such as Jira while incorporating academic-specific features such as retrospective and faculty feedback. Ultimately, TROFOS seeks to enhance project management skills among students and improve the overall quality of academic projects. We have implemented this platform, and students have used it for different projects—both course projects and final year projects. We have conducted an extensive survey evaluation of the platform using the standard UTAUT model. A survey was constructed to find out, whether TROFOS helps with software engineering education, how well users are adapting to and accepting TROFOS if they have previously been used to other tools, and how we can improve in each of the 4 areas (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions) to make TROFOS more widely accepted by its target users in the future. The survey revealed that TROFOS meets various design objectives very well.
