Emerging approaches to online crime prevention

The Internet is a haven for criminals, but it is also a powerful tool for preventing risky online behaviour. This chapter highlights some organisations working towards protecting children online and generally making the Internet safer for all, including the Internet Watch Foundation and the WeProtect Global Alliance. It reviews the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and other technological solutions, as well as the human element, in the detection and removal of child sexual abuse material.
