This chapter explores the integration of federated learning (FL) in the evolution of supply chain management within the context of Industry 5.0. With the advancement of Industry 5.0, supply chain management has transitioned toward Supply Chain Management 5.0 (SCM 5.0), which incorporates emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to meet demands for mass personalization and efficiency. FL offers a decentralized approach to machine learning that enables different entities in the supply chain to collaboratively train models without sharing sensitive data, while enhancing privacy, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting real-time decision-making.
