In this replete review, a multinational and complex world of nutraceuticals is brought stage-after-stage definition, historical progression, and categorization. It will deal with various nutraceuticals such as dietary supplements, functional foods, herbal extracts, probiotics with their underlying mechanisms of action and bioactive compounds. The wide-ranging benefits extended as health benefits by nutraceuticals-stating cardioprotective and anticancer properties along with neuroprotective and immunomodulatory benefits are highlighted by the review.
