Analyzing the Constraints in Automated Character Recognition from Ancient Modi Manuscripts

Ancient documents still contain a lot of information which helps to resolve today’s problem, but due to lack of right preserving methods such documents are at the edge of degradation. In Maharashtra, Modi is an ancient scripting language used for documentation since the 17th century and the style of scripting changes with time. Modi-script also a part of cursive style, written on a paper without lifting pen. The primary objective of this study is to examine the various approaches utilized in HOCR, with a particular focus on the Modi scripts.
