Mitigation Strategies for IoT Attacks Using Blockchain: A Survey

Dega Balakotaiah, Deevi Radha Rani · 2024

The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) has resulted in significant transformations in many sectors of our everyday existence. Nevertheless, serious security issues have also been raised by the quick spread of IoT devices. These devices are vulnerable to a wide variety of attacks because they are frequently operated with limited resources. The problems that IoT security presents may not be sufficiently addressed by traditional security measures. With its decentralization, immutability, and transparency, block chain technology appears to be a promising solution for reducing IoT security risks. In addition to a taxonomy of IoT attacks, security challenges, current solutions, and the potential of block chain-based approaches, this paper provides a thorough overview of IoT security. This paper also presented challenges and research directions associated with leveraging block chain technology to counteract IoT attacks.
