Implementation of hearing impaired assistive system using visual aids

Although hearing aids have been developed for decades, they can still not address the hearing-impaired person's impairment, mainly because the amplified noise makes hearing-impaired people uncomfortable. How to help hearing-impaired people communicate with ordinary people is still an urgent need. In this study, we aim to realize a system that combines speech recognition and speech segment detection to recognize speech and display the recognition result in the smart glasses so that the hearing-impaired person can see the content of the other person's speech through the smart glasses, and the experimental results show that the system realized in this paper can improve the ability of the hearing-impaired person's ability to converse with the other person.
